A total amount of £3,706 has been given to Johnstone Youth Council by the Local Area Committee for the second round of the annual event.
Last year WYJC joined forces with the newly-refurbished Johnstone Community Sports Complex to bring a long-awaited event back to life.
Months of planning finally came into fruition on August 24 2013 when Thomas Shanks Park sprung to life, with more than 2,000 people gathering for an event which also seen the official opening of the JCSC facility.
Joseph Mcinally, from WYJC, said: “All the money is going towards organising another gala day on Saturday, August 16 2014 from 12-5pm in Thomas Shanks Park, Beith Road, Johnstone.
“We organised our first gala day last year and estimate 2000 came. We are hoping this year to do it bigger and better and hope that the people of Johnstone will support us.”
