A TEEN was hospitalised after being beaten by a thug in Renfrew.

The incident took place in Craigielea Road on Saturday, September 3 at 11.30pm.

After receiving a serious facial injury, the 16-year-old was treated on the spot and taken to hospital.

His attacker is described as being a white man, aged between 20 to 30, wearing dark clothing.

Chief Inspector Simon Wright who is the Area Commander based at Johnstone said: "We are investigating a serious assault involving a 16-year-old boy.

"The young man was attacked and received an injury to his face. He was taken to the nearest hospital. 

"The man who assaulted the teenager is described as white, aged around 20 to 30 and with dark clothing.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area to come forward with any information."
