Lynanne Cameron lashed out at the cop after he’d arrested her following her brawl with two other women in a popular Paisley nightspot.

Cameron clashed with Andrea Ewing and Anne Marie Devlin in the town’s Cafuffals last January.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard that one of the women stumbled on the dancefloor and banged into Cameron and one of her pals.

They began arguing with the woman and her friends and, as they exchanged words, the argument escalated.

Maureen McGovern, prosecuting, explained: “The accused became aggressive and went for Andrea Ewing, pulling her hair.

“The bar manager and door stewards observed what was going on and went to break things up.

“At this point the accused turned her attention to Anne Marie Devlin and once again elected to assault this lady by pulling her hair.

“The bar manager intervened and ejected the accused and her friends from the premises.” Sheriff Tom McCartney was told that Cameron then stood outside the door of the New Street bar and was spotted “acting aggressively” by police officers who were stationed nearby.

Cameron then got into a conversation with another reveller who was standing outside and they decided to go and speak to her.

The 29-year-old didn’t hide the fact that she was annoyed at being spoken to by the officers and she was arrested.

The court heard that she “didn’t go quietly” - prompting the officers to call for a police van.

While the police were dealing with Cameron her friends made a nuisance of themselves and she was placed in the back of their police car.

Whilst in the back of the van she lashed out at Detective Constable Ian Cameron, who was standing next to the car.

McGovern explained: “He felt a sharp blow to his groin area.

“He realised she was leaning back in the vehicle and had quite deliberately bent her leg and struck out with her feet - she was wearing stiletto heels.

“She struck the police officer again in the same manner.” The police van then arrived and Cameron was placed in the back of the vehicle and taken to the police station.

She was cautioned and charged with assaulting both women and the cop, saying she disagreed with the alleged attack on the police officer.

Cameron appeared in the dock last month where she pleaded guilty to three assault charges.

The court heard there was bad blood between the women after one of the victim’s boyfriend’s was involved in the murder of one of Cameron’s pals.

Sheriff McCartney was told that Cameron regretted her actions and accepted she should not have lashed out at a police officer who was just doing his job.

And, after hearing that spending a night in the cells and having a court case hanging over her head was “extremely embarrassing and uncomfortable for her”, Sheriff McCartney opted to fine the Asda bakery supervisor.

He told first-offender Cameron, of Renfrew’s Jessiman Square, to hand over £560 - £160 for assaulting each of the women and £240 for lashing out at DC Cameron.
