Gina Kelly and Drew Ross are part of a small group of Skills Development Scotland’s (SDS) employees who are featured in posters and leaflets for the campaign which begins this month.

It also includes plasma screen, social media and targeted text advertising. Gina, 25, is based in SDS’s Paisley centre in Causeyside Street, where she works with young people aged 16-19. She enjoys the variety of her job and being part of helping someone to achieve their goals.

Her colleague Drew is based in Paisley but also works in SDS’s centre in Barrhead Foundry and Johnstone Jobcentre.

He has been a careers adviser for 17 years and finds working with young people and seeing them progress into employment, further education or developing their career plans very rewarding.

Both were happy to take part in the campaign. Gina said: “The thing I enjoy most about my job is helping people and the campaign is all about that, so I was happy to take part.” Her views were echoed by Drew who was asked by his manager if he wanted to participate.

He said: “It isn’t something that I would have thought about doing but if it helps to raise awareness of the support and help that we offer then that is great.” SDS’s head of marketing James Prentice said: “Our careers advisers provide an amazing service and can offer a broad range of support and coaching to anyone looking to take the next step in their career. We really wanted the campaign to celebrate the expertise of Gina, Drew and their colleagues who work with people throughout Scotland every day.” For more information about SDS services please call 0800 917 8000 or visit www.myworldofwork.co.uk.
