FOR most people, the chance to spend the night in a haunted dungeon would send shivers down their spines.
Trekking through a jungle with huge biting insects and poisonous snakes isn’t exactly a walk in the park either, but brave Bishopton girl Kirsty Rae, 20, wasn’t fazed - she did both for a TV show in 2005.
Plucky Kirsty, of Lyle Crescent, saw an advert on the internet looking for adventurous people, and didn’t hesitate to answer.
The Gazette reported how she was getting ready for the challenge of a lifetime, a journey through the jungles of Borneo.
But before she could jet off into the sunshine, South-African born Kirsty had another test.
She and 19 other contestants were to be tied up and left in the dark, spooky vaults beneath Edinburgh to try and summon the Black Widow, a 17th century ghost that haunts them.
She said: “I’m not bothered about the dark, but I’m a bit nervous about meeting ghosts.
“I don’t really know how to prepare for this sort of thing.”
