A LOCHWINNOCH mum who has worked to inspire those who have lost limbs has published a book documenting her amazing life.

Corinne Hutton, 46, launched Finding Your Feet at the Waterstones store at Braehead, to a packed room of admirers.

The mum-of-one had both her hands and legs below the knee amputated in 2013 after suffering from acute pneumonia and septicaemia.

Shortly after this, she set up a charity, also called Finding Your Feet, to improve the lives of those affected by amputation.

Corinne said she hopes the book will act as a comfort to those going through similar experiences.

She told the Gazette: “It took me so long to get this done, so I’m delighted it’s finally finished.

“I don’t have all the answers but I hope that explaining what I did will help other amputees too.

“One of my friends who was in rehab with me came along to the launch and cried all the way.”

Corinne’s brother Davy and her close friend Peter McTasney also gave readings at the launch.

The former businesswoman has taken on extraordinary physical challenges to show that losing your limbs should not stop you living life. She is currently training for the London Triathlon, which takes place later this month.

Corinne even bared all to have her body painted with organs that were deemed transplantable, in a bid to highlight the importance of donation.

A picture of this was beamed onto London landmarks to coincide with Organ Donation Week and also features on the cover of her book, alongside a dedication to her eight-year-old son Rory, who was just four when she went through her amputations.

Corinne said: “I didn’t ever believe that so many people would come to be inspired by my story but it has been so important for my son Rory to see me trying.

“Everything I have done is for him.”
