Lochwinnoch rocked on Saturday as a busy hostelry staged the latest in its sell-out summer music bonanzas.

An eclectic line-up of bands drew music lovers from a wide area to the day-long extravaganza at the Three Churches Inn.

The annual bash, which raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, served up a selection of rock, indie, ska, folk, soul, punk and more.

And there was even a ukulele band, which went down a storm.

Inn owner Karen Smith told the Gazette: “This was the sixth of our annual Summer Jam events and it was a great success.

“We are still counting up how much was raised for this fantastic charity, which is close to many people’s hearts in the village, but we know that, once again, the total will be high.”

The music kicked off at lunchtime on the large outdoor stage with Neon Gypsy, who were followed by Uncut, The Vanities, Mandula and Hephizibah, Howlin Radio, Bainey, The Mighty Sparrowhawk, The Turkey Nuts, Sound of Lies and Shardlake.

Marc Jamieson played an acoustic guitar session and a DJ kept the partygoers on their feet until midnight.

Karen added: “It was a fabulous day, despite the bad weather, and we are grateful to Stage Hire Scotland for their support.

“It gave people the chance to hear the very best in up-and-coming and established bands, covering a wide rage of styles.

“I am very grateful to them for their support and to everyone who came along and enjoyed the day.”
