A BUDDING businessman from Houston has been selected as one of the newest and youngest board members for a hotel brand.

Last week, Radisson Blu announced the regional winners of its nationwide search to find a new “Board of Directors” with a difference.

Six mini CEOs – or Child Entertainment Officers – aged between six and 10-years-old, have been recruited to help consult on the hotels’ family offering across the UK and Ireland this summer.

Aidan Smith, eight, from Houston, was selected from hundreds of video entries received where he applied for the role to review a number of child-friendly facilities at the Radisson Blu Edinburgh.

During the “working” weekend, Aidan will be given his own currency to spend in the hotel’s restaurant and bar, testing his colouring-in skills, trying out the children’s menu, creating his own ice cream and making his own salads.

Steve Manfield, marketing director for Radisson Blu said: “To become a Radisson Blu Edinburgh Mini CEO, we wanted someone that could demonstrate a sense of humour, with an outgoing personality and not afraid to give us their honest opinion – Aidan certainly demonstrated that.”

The winner earns a family holiday to Gran Canaria at the recently opened Radisson Blu.
