A TALENTED Bridge of Weir man who stars in hit BBC television show Scot Squad is to headline a comedy night in aid of a sports charity.

Actor and comedian Chris Forbes will top the bill at Thursday's fundraiser for Scottish Sports Futures (SSF).

Chris is an ambassador for SSF, which delivers nationwide sports development programmes to around 10,000 young people each year, with a focus on those who are disadvantaged or at risk.

The programmes use the power of sport, such as basketball, judo and rowing, to inspire young people to make positive lifestyle choices.

The charity night takes place at the Hard Rock Café, in Glasgow, starting at 8pm.

Chris, who plays PC Charlie MacIntosh in Scot Squad, said: “We’ve got a terrific line-up, with guaranteed laughs, all for a really inspiring organisation.

“SSF does incredibly important work and I have seen first-hand how it can turn a young person’s life around. Their programmes really do work and are directly helping so many overlooked children.”

Tickets for Thursday's event cost £12 and can be booked online at www.hardrock.com/cafes/glasgow.
