Renfrew co-manager Martin Ferry admits forward Craig Dallas frustrates him just as much as he amazes him after the striker netted a late equaliser to secure an opening day point against Pollok.

Newly promoted Frew were 1-0 down with five minutes remaining when Dallas produced a stunning solo run, jinking past three defenders before finishing to nick a late point.

And Ferry confessed he was not surprised in the slightest with the striker’s contribution.

He said: “Craig was immense. He’s always had that in his locker but he’s frustrating at times. No one can touch him when he’s in the mood but sometimes he does his wee flicks and tricks in places on the park that leaves us screaming at him. He done a flick on the half-way line just after he came on and gave it away but I can’t complain too much.

“He’s only 21 so we need to give him a wee bit of leeway - he’s got that much ability.

"One minute he can be producing magic and the next he’s standing having a laugh or joking. He’s able to produce the kind of magic and quality that you don’t believe it sometimes, though.”

Meanwhile, the Frew pushed Kilwinning Rangers all the way last night (Wednesday), only going down to a late strike after Rikki McIntosh's leveller.

The New Western Park side, who will count themselves unlucky not to have secured a point against the Buffs, now host Kilbirnie Ladeside this Saturday, 2pm kick off, as they search for their first win of the season.
