Erskine defender Kevin McCann has signed with Lowland League side East Kilbride, becoming St Mirren legends Billy Stark’s first signing since taking over the K Park hotseat.

Stark was named East Kilbride manager last month and he moved quickly to snap up the 29-year-old.

McCann was without a club having left League One side Albion Rovers at the end of last season.

The full back started his career at Hibernian and won the League Cup with the Edinburgh side in 2007.

However, after being beset by injuries, McCann was loaned out to Inverness Caledonian Thistle prior to short stints at Greenock Morton, Livingston and Raith Rovers.

His next move was a surprising one as he headed east to sign for Singapore side Warriors FC.

There was further silverware in store for McCann after taking the plunge and moving to Asia.

He became the first Scot to lift the S-League trophy just over two years ago.

He returned to Scotland in 2016 and had a spell at Falkirk before his move to Albion Rovers.
