THERE is still time to get your votes in for our Community Chest initiative with Taylor Wimpey.

The Gazette has teamed up with the housing developer to give away £1,000 to worthy causes in Renfrewshire.

After nominations flooded in, our editorial team whittled them down to produce a shortlist of the most deserving causes.

And we would now like you to cast your vote for your top three favourite charities or local community groups to receive a cash boost of either £500, for first place, £300, for second place, or £200, for third place.

The six finalists are: 

Corseford Tenants’ and Residents Association, which would use the cash to help fund a play area for kids in this area of Johnstone

Johnstone Central Scout Group, which is keen to improve its Scout Hall.
Fares4Free, which provides veterans across Renfrewshire with a befriending service.

The Buddy Beat, which would use the funds to provide music workshops to various groups, including schoolkids with special needs.

Active Communities, in Johnstone, and delivers physical activity, community sport and health and wellbeing programmes.

Renfrewshire Foodbank, which relies on help from the community to provide food while supporting people to get back on their feet.
