GAVIN Newlands has branded Boris Johnson a “shambolic disaster” and said tomorrow’s General Election is a chance for Scotland to take its future into its own hands.

The SNP man, running for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, will be looking to retain his seat for a third time since 2015.

Ahead of polling day, he said Scotland needs strong voices standing up for the country at Westminster and believes he is the accessible politician to deliver for the area.

“This election is a choice of two futures – chaos and extremism under the Westminster establishment or a Scotland taking our own future into our own hands,” said Mr Newlands.

“We’ve shown what our country is capable of, with 70,000 new affordable homes, tuition fees and prescription charges scrapped, a doubling of nursery and early years provision, record health spending, the Baby Box, world-leading renewables and much, much more.

“Boris Johnson has been a shambolic disaster as Prime Minister, insulting and fighting our allies in Europe, while holding Scotland in contempt.

“Meanwhile, Labour have been more interested in fighting each other instead of the Tories – and we still don’t know their policy on Brexit.”

Mr Newlands added: “We need strong voices at Westminster, standing up for our right to choose and standing up against the unmitigated disaster that is Brexit and Scotland being dragged out of the European Union against our will.

“Locally, I’ve taken on more than 11,000 cases on your behalf and held more than 600 constituency advice surgeries, as well as my shopfront office being open for all constituents.

“I’ve tried to be as accessible an MP as possible and, if re-elected, I’ll continue to stand up for all who live in Paisley and Renfrewshire North.

“If you’re with us and you want to choose your own future, vote SNP on December 12.”
