A MAN has been charged with theft after allegedly smashing the window of a parked car in Renfrewshire.
The 41-year-old suspect was reported to police by members of the public who are said to have witnessed the incident in Glen Street, Paisley, at around 2.50pm on Monday.
Police said the man was seen breaking the window of an unattended Peugeot before reaching in and stealing an item.
Officers promptly traced the suspect nearby and it is claimed he was found in possession of a sat-nav device.
He was taken into custody pending an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court.
