RENFREWSHIRE Council have confirmed "no damage" has been caused to Renfrew's war memorial following a car smash yesterday.
We previously reported officers attended the crash, which involved a blue car and a concrete bench next to the memorial on Harist Street, on Tuesday, November 14 at around 10am.
Following the accident, police said the driver of the motor left the area.
Now, the local authority has confirmed no damage was caused to the cenotaph or the surrounding street furniture.
Meanwhile, today, cops also revealed enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for Renfrewshire Council said: "We are aware of an incident involving a car crashing near the cenotaph on Hairst Street in Renfrew town centre on Tuesday, November 14.
"Our team have been out to inspect the scene and have confirmed that no damage was caused to the cenotaph or surrounding street furniture."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing."
