POLICE hunting for a missing pensioner with dementia have released a new image of the man. 

Allan Burns, 77, has not been seen since disappearing at around 3.15 on Friday on the cylce path at Kilbarchan, heading towards Lochwinnoch. 

He was reported missing by family when he did not return home.

Police and members of the public have been searching the surrounding areas for Allan but are growing increasingly concerned of his whereabouts.

Police have released further details of Allan, with a spokesperson saying: "He was wearing a Khakhi Green Waterproof Jacket from Marks and Spencers, tartan lined on the inside, along with a Grey tammy knittted hat, dark blue jeans, grey walking boots, a maroon and grey striped scarf and large black gloves."

Just yesterday, one of the area's leading cops issued an urgent plea in the search for Allan. 

Hazel Scott, area commander for Johnstone, Renfrew, and the whole of Renfrewshire, said: "We're still looking for Allan Burns who has been missing since Friday.

"The latest is that we have got detailed searches but we would encourage everyone to help us greatly by making sure to search their outbuildings, gardens and garages.

"And we would appeal to Allan directly. Please get in touch Allan and please let your family know that you are safe."
